a bioregional movement

The more beautiful
front range

The More Beautiful Movement is underway.

We represent a growing number of land stewards here on the Front Range:
a dynamic population of movement-makers, grounded healers, ritual artists, craftspeople, scientists, students, philosophers, computer programmers, adventurers,
all weavers of the living web,
devoted to regenerating these lands and our relationships herewith.

We are Mystery Workers, taking up the shared mantle of responsibility for our presence here, the incontrovertible reality of our interbeing, the material manifestation of  aspects of our land-bound fate.

Why?

Because loving the same land makes us family again;
it makes us kin.

We move More Beautifully when we attend to the living ecologies that nourish us with food and medicine and home.
We live More Beautifully when we beckon, protect, and give thanks for the life-giving waters of ground and sky.
We commune More Beautifully when we honor the original ancestors of these lands:
the Ute, the Cheyenne, the Arapaho peoples,
the bison, the wolves, the unbroken grasslands.

We work More Beautifully when we do it together.

the Front Range IS where it has already begun

We, Mystery Workers of the Front Range, are growing and deepening our sacred and scientific relationships with these particular lands, regenerating topsoil, planting pollinator gardens, selecting and saving heirloom seeds, preventing further soil erosion, and generally defying the monstrously destructive march of the industrial extraction system by sheer cleverness and wet (sweat, tears, blood) devotion. There is a lot more for us to do, grieve, and repair, and yet there is cause for celebration that this is already happening, that:

we cook each other food,
we catch each other’s stories,
we dance together in ecstasy,
we remember each other’s prayers,
we sing each other’s songs.

The relational field here is not pasteurized, not homogenous, and it is also not abstract - it is culturing;
it is vibrant, vital and alive.

We are returning home to each other and to the land, here in the Foothills, along the Front Range of the Rockies, where the grassy plains meet the ascending coniferous forests. Something magical is happening here.

the vision

The Vision is of a regenerative Front Range, with thriving food-sheds, soil-sheds, water-sheds, culture-sheds, a bellwether of the decentralized movement to affirm life and our ability as humans to steward and nurture natural systems towards greater vitality and diversity.

The regenerative movement is well underway here in the Front Range, and it is the mission of The Mystery Works to proliferate the possibilities of what we can do, together - for these particular lands and beyond.

The More Beautiful World is one we weave together.

The More Beautiful World starts with kinship and great experiments of belonging for all of us. To feel deeply together, to witness our impacts on others, to differentiate self from other and another and another yet still, while bone-knowing the density and breadth of that which binds us, forged by bright and dark seasons.

Here, on the Front Range, seeds have sprouted taproots of  what Charles Eisenstein planted ten years ago as “The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know is Possible.” The roots discover nutrients and nurturers here. We give thanks for such good shoulders.
